    Data from Cirium reveals that many flights departing regularly from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 2025 will cover over 5,000 miles. The airport is expected to host 7,210 such flights, totaling more than two million seats and 13 billion available seat miles. The average flight length is anticipated to be 6,676 miles.

Scheduled are 715 flights, encompassing close to 200,000 seats and 1.7 billion available seat miles. These flights are operated mainly by Boeing 787-9 and occasionally by Airbus A380-800 aircraft.

    As Airbus A380s age, Qantas plans to integrate the A350-1000 into some significant routes. Currently, the fleet size includes ten A380-800s and 14 787-9 aircraft, with more on order.

    American Airlines‘ Influence

    American Airlines stands out among US carriers with 23 long-haul routes, including one significant route to Brisbane. Operating 144 times in 2025, this route provides over 38,000 seats, contributing to American’s strong presence, which constitutes 82% of airport traffic. Dallas is a significant hub for American Airlines due to historical expansion, including the Wright Amendment restrictions on Dallas Love Field.

    A new Terminal F, costing $4 billion, is part of the airport’s expansion, indicating long-term growth for American at this hub.

    The longest route is Dallas to Melbourne at 8,973 miles. The annual schedule includes 209 flights and nearly 50,000 seats. Additionally, the Dallas to Sydney route is notable for using the Airbus A380 and ranks as the second longest in terms of distance. The shortest route in the data is from Dallas to São Paulo, at 5,111 miles, serviced by American’s Boeing 777-300ER, offering various seating classes.

    Incidents highlight the operational challenges faced, as seen during a New York-bound flight from São Paulo, involving onboard disturbances during delays.
