Initially destined for Singapore, the aircraft turned around over Azerbaijan due to a possible mechanical issue. The flight was delayed, and no new departure time has been announced.
Lufthansa’s flight LH432 from Frankfurt to Chicago had to return shortly after departure due to a technical issue. The Airbus A340-313X stopped its climb at 23,000 feet and safely landed back in Frankfurt. The airline has not yet rescheduled the flight.
Lufthansa utilizes Frankfurt as its central hub with 67% of its widebody flights on the Airbus A340 and Boeing 747. In October, routes focus on the US with a significant number of departures. Although quadjet use declined compared to last year, the A340-300 and 747-400 saw increases, signaling strategic realignments amidst retirements.
