Delta Air Lines remains one of the few carriers actively using the Boeing 767, despite its declining role due to newer-generation aircraft like the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. Delta holds a fleet of 61 Boeing 767s, comprising 40 767-300ER and 21 767-400ER models. The average age of the 767-300ER fleet is approximately 30 years, while the 767-400ER fleet averages 25 years.

    Delta’s 767 Utilization at JFK

Delta Air Lines utilizes its Boeing 767s significantly at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), especially for long-haul transcontinental and transatlantic routes. Cirium’s data shows that Delta operated a total of 10,764 Boeing 767 flights from JFK in 2025.

Top Domestic Route: JFK to LAX

The busiest domestic Boeing 767 route for Delta from JFK is to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In 2025, there are 2,978 flights scheduled with a capacity of 666,775 seats. The 767-300ER accommodates 216 seats across four classes, and the 767-400ER offers seats for up to 238 passengers. Delta conducts up to ten daily flights between New York and Los Angeles, competing against JetBlue Airways, American Airlines, and Frontier Airlines, which utilize Airbus A321neo aircraft.

    Significant Transatlantic Routes

Delta’s Boeing 767s are pivotal for transatlantic operations, accounting for 4,845 flights to 24 European destinations in 2025. The most frequented route is JFK to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), with 619 flights offering 147,322 seats. Following this are routes to London Heathrow (LHR) with 368 flights and Dublin (DUB) with 364 flights.

The airline’s primary hubs include Boston, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis, alongside JFK. Delta commenced operations in 1929 and remains a full-service carrier.
