    Introduction

Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, has deployed wide-body aircraft on the Mumbai (BOM) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) route to meet growing demand from Indian travelers and enhance air connectivity between the nations.

    Aircraft Upgrade Details

    • The new aircraft on this route are the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350.
    • These planes feature advanced technology, spacious cabins, and improved passenger amenities.
    • Business Class passengers can enjoy full-flat beds, while all cabins offer extensive in-flight entertainment and diverse dining options, including menus designed for Indian tastes.

    Route and Capacity Enhancements

The wide-body upgrade introduces daily operations from Mumbai, offering a high-quality travel experience at competitive prices. This move fortifies Vietnam Airlines’ presence in the Indian market, which is seeing a steady rise in demand for both leisure and business travel.

    Comments from Executives

Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager India at Vietnam Airlines, stated that the positive reception of the Mumbai to Hanoi wide-body flights encouraged this expansion. He emphasized the upgrade’s role in boosting comfort and convenience, further enhancing tourism and business ties between India and Vietnam.

Abhishek Goyal, CEO of Aeroprime Group, the airline’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in India, remarked that the expanded use of wide-body aircraft not only increases capacity but also elevates service standards, aligning with Vietnam’s appeal to Indian tourists.

    Enhancing Regional Connectivity

The upgrade facilitates easy access to Vietnam Airlines’ extensive regional and global network, with onward connections to destinations such as China, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. This aligns with the airline’s strategy to establish itself as a key player in Asia while catering to increasing travel demands from India.

Vietnam Airlines, a SkyTeam Alliance member, operates over 130 routes to 58 domestic and 72 international destinations.
