EGYPTAIR Enhances Engine Maintenance with V2500-A5 Capability
EGYPTAIR Maintenance & Engineering has broadened its engine maintenance capabilities by acquiring an OEM license from Pratt & Whitney / IAE. This license authorizes repairs on the V2500-A5 engine.
Turbine Hub Repair Certification
The new certification permits the company’s Engine Shop to perform extensive repair operations, including the “Project Shop Visit” (VRS3896 – Repair 015), which involves High Pressure Turbine (HPT) hubs.

Current Repair Work and Compliance
- Two V2500-A5 engines are currently under repair with this new approval.
- This capability ensures adherence to FAA airworthiness directives AD 2022-09-02 and AD 2024-11-03, guaranteeing the engines uphold the highest safety and reliability standards.
Market Position and Business Expansion
Chairman & CEO Eng. Ibrahim Fathy stated that this achievement enhances the company’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) offerings and strengthens its market position in the region. Fathy remarked, “By offering this specialized service, EGYPTAIR Maintenance & Engineering is now better equipped to meet the growing demands of its customers and attract new business.”
