Lufthansa Celebrates 100 Years with Special Anniversary Livery

Lufthansa, the German flag carrier, is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026 by unveiling a special aircraft livery. This commemorative design enhances a Boeing 787-9 with predominantly blue and white colors. The unique feature of this livery is the iconic Lufthansa crane, which appears to hover above with wings seamlessly blending into the actual wings of the aircraft. A prominent ‘100’ is displayed along the fuselage, signifying the milestone.

    • Aircraft Type: Boeing 787-9
    • Primary Colors: Blue and White
    • Design Feature: Lufthansa crane with integrated wing design
    • Anniversary Marking: Large ‘100’ on fuselage

    CEO’s Statement

Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, commented on this significant occasion, emphasizing the values embodied by the Lufthansa crane. He stated, “Our Lufthansa crane stands for safety, pioneering spirit, premium quality, but also for freedom and reliability. This has been the case for the past 100 years and will continue to be so in the future. We are proud of our tradition and our values, and we look forward to continuing our great history. The special livery of the Boeing 787 honors our identity and also stands for a proud team of Lufthansa employees who give everything every day for the safety and well-being of our guests.”
