flydubai Expands African Reach with New Nairobi Flights and Enhanced Mombasa Service
flydubai (FZ) will initiate new flights to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) starting October 15, 2025. This new route will operate four times weekly from Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB).
Increased Mombasa Operations
In addition to the Nairobi service, flydubai plans to enhance its operations to Mombasa (MBA) by offering daily flights beginning October 1, 2025. This expansion will increase flydubai’s weekly flights to Kenya to a total of 11.
Growing African Network
With the addition of Nairobi, flydubai now serves 12 destinations in Africa. This includes cities such as Alexandria, Addis Ababa, Asmara, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Al Alamein (seasonal), Mombasa, and Zanzibar.
Statements from flydubai’s Management
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, emphasized the strategic importance of the Kenyan market: “These flights underline the significance of connecting Kenya to Dubai’s global aviation hub, which facilitates trade, travel, and tourism between the two countries.”
Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations (UAE, GCC, Africa, and South Asia), noted that the expansion will offer customers across the network more convenient options to access Kenya.
